Sheriff Steven W. Tompkins took part in the 47th Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Breakfast at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center in South Boston. The breakfast is the longest running event in the country honoring the late civil rights leader.
"It was a truly moving and inspiring experience to be present for the Annual Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Breakfast yesterday morning. Hearing from so many likeminded elected leaders and members of the clergy as they sounded the call to action on criminal justice reform and other social justice issues served as a powerful reminder about the work that remains to be done to expand upon the legacy that Dr. King left us," said Sheriff Tompkins.
