SHERIFF TOMPKINS ATTENDS DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION AS MA DELEGATE

Sheriff Steve Tompkins was selected by fellow State Committee Members to serve as a Hillary Clinton Congressional District 7 Delegate at the 2016 Democratic National Convention.

"My time at the Democratic Convention wasn't just experiencing this monumental chapter in our country's history - that of nominating the first female to run for the American presidency - I also served as a whip, which meant that I had to make sure that nine people in my group were in their seats when needed to vote on platform initiatives," said Sheriff Tompkins.

"The Democratic National Convention was one of the most exhilarating experiences of my lifetime. Joining this exercise in civic engagement at its highest level, and sharing in the camaraderie that is created by a mass of people working together toward a greater common goal was inspiring, energizing and extremely enlightening. I will never forget my trip to the DNC, and I will forever cherish the friendships - both new and renewed - from my time in Philadelphia. We've made our choice, our nominee has accepted, and now the work begins in earnest."
